Leder Games will release Root: The Homeland Expansion, a new expansion for Root, in late 2026 [corrected from earlier date, 5/13 3:55 CT].  New expansion will introduce three new factions and two new maps for the game.

The Lilypad Diaspora were scattered long ago and are now hoping to integrate peacefully, but tensons are high and misunderstandings can lead to conflict.

The Twilight Council seeks a peaceful end to the war, bringing together the citizens of the Woodland to broad assemblies where heated debate replaces bloody battle.

The Knaves of the Deepwoods raid barracks and baggage trains, kidnapping warriors for ransom, celebrating their take in the forest depths.

The expansion requires the base game to play.   It's for 2-6 players ages 10 and up and plays in 60-90 minutes.  It will be released in August at $60 MSRP.

The Root base game has been at or near the top of the ICv2 Top 10 Hobby Channel Board Games chart (see "Board Games Fall 2024") for the past several years.
